Lodging: We will stay in a Caravan Park (similar to mobile homes.) There will be two-four participants per caravan. Each caravan is fully equipped with kitchen, bathroom and two bedrooms. There is a restaurant at the Caravan Park if you do not wish to cook. You can also walk into town to eat at one of the pubs. Groceries can be purchased in town.

Kayaking Equipment: The kayaks, paddles, sprayskirts and PFD's will be provided. You will be responsible to bring any other equipment you wish to have along on the trip.

Land Transportation: A 15-passenger van will be taking the group to all of our destinations. All participants will be picked up at Newcastle Airport and returned at the end of the tour.

Price: Approx. $1,999 ($500 non-refundable deposit to secure a place. Deposit returned if trip is canceled. We are not responsible for airfare/transportation cancellation fees if the trip is canceled.)

Price includes: Lodging for 11 nights in a Caravan, kayaking equipment rental, kayak shuttling, ground transportation (as a group) for the planned trip itinerary, pick up and drop off at Newcastle Airport and kayak guides Derek Hutchinson and Wayne Horodowich. The tour begins when we pick you up at Newcastle Airport and ends when we return you to the airport according to the itinerary listed above.

Participants provide: Airfare and air travel arrangements, food, and personal equipment. A detailed equipment list will be provided to participants.

Experience level: All kayakers should have previous paddling experience. Our trips will be in the North Sea. All paddlers should feel comfortable with wet exits from closed cockpit kayaks in the event of capsize. All paddlers should be capable of getting back into their kayak after capsize. Paddling distances will range between 6 and 10 miles on an any given day. All kayaking will be day trips. We plan to kayak at least six days, weather permitting. The North Sea demands a lot of respect. If we have good weather we kayak. If we have bad weather (unacceptable risk) for kayaking we will tour by bus and hike. It is possible we may never get in a kayak if the weather is against us. However, July's weather should give us plenty of time for kayaking.

Sightseeing: Depending on the weather we plan to kayak for half of the trip days and visit castles, churches, and other historic sights on the other days. Since this area is Derek's home stomping ground you can be certain we will have a great time with him as our "local knowledge."

There are only 10 spaces available for this unique adventure.
